Will you help out?

Every member of the Westchester chapter is a volunteer. Volunteering is the best way to learn how EWGA works, in addition to meeting many other women who share your interest in golf. Many of the positions only take a few hours of your time each month. Please review the list below and contact Susan O'Dowd our Leadership Chair for more infomation.

1) Membership Liason

  • Download membership report each month and make calls primarily to new members to help them get started. Make suggestions for clinics, events etc. based on their skill level.
  • Make intermittent calls to old members to see if they are participating in our offerings and if there is anything we can do to help them to get more involved.
  • Touch base with lapsed members and see if there is anything we can do to help them to get back involved.
  • Gather information, negative or positive and report back so we can deal with problems in a proactive way.
  • This person should be very friendly, positive and outgoing and have been a member for a few years who has participated herself in many of our offerings.
  • Keep excel file of feedback and report to Membership Chair

2) Sponsorship Social Liason

  • Assist Sponsor Chair by sending out thank you letters to all sponsors and make them feel appreciated
  • Help collect and organize prizes for various golf events
  • Assist at the Tee Off Luncheon by coordinating table set up for Sponsors
  • Keep sponsors up to date on our chapter calendar and invite them outings, etc.
  • Check in to see what we can do to deliver their message to our members

3) Chapter Photographer and photo editor.

  • Photograph at local events like league nights, outings, clinics.
  • Optimize, edit, date and name photos and write captions.
  • Organize image archives, sending only “good shots” to Cindy for e-blasts and Sherry for the website.
  • Reach out to chapter members for their photos.
  • Create end of year slideshow.

4) Captains for all education clinics

  • Get to the clinic early and greet attendees.
  • Make sure all are paid in full before participating
  • Hand out brochures and promote chapter events
  • Be friendly and ask questions. Make attendees feel comfortable.
  • Transition attendees to next appropriate clinic and/or league.
  • Interact with pro and get feedback on the clinic.
  • Survey and record results of clinic. Determine if the ladies liked the clinic and pro.
  • Report results to Education chair in written document.
  • Make recommendations to education chair for future clinics.
